after shooting caroline and pete's engagement party last year, i knew their wedding promised to be a fantastic event. and it was. these two are quite possibly the two of the sweetest people i have ever met. the love they have for each other is beautiful, and feel so honored to share this day with them.

when max and heather hired me to do their wedding in umbria, i began counting the days until the beautiful event! not only was italy the most amazingly beautiful place EVER, max and heather were the totally laid back, enjoyable people to be around and photograph. because max was familiar with the area, we were able to walk through the streets of gubbio and get AM.A.ZING. locations for pictures. we had so much fun together that a couple of days after their wedding, we met up in sienna and they showed us that area VERSACE style! (max may or may not be responsible for brooklyn's first taste of gelato...)

i am FINALLY getting to blog the versace wedding!! i can't believe how behind i am in blogging, but i am making it my mission to get caught up in the next couple of weeks...
so the versace wedding was a DREAM wedding for any couple. max and heather invited their closest family members and friends to spend a week with them in italy and witness their beautiful union. one of the greatest things about having a destination wedding is the events leading up to the wedding day. i was honored to have been part of the "rehearsal" festivities the night before. after a HUGE italian meal, the boys and girls split up for their own pre wedding responsibilities. as you can see, the girls got right down to business - making sure the bride was taken care of. the boys, well, they had a different plan...
cigars. first priority.

after meeting jessia and glenn at their engagement session last year, i knew theirs would be a wedding to remember. both the ceremony and reception were filled with unique antiques and pieces that were personal to each of them. i LOVE when couples bring their personalities to their wedding - it makes the day so special and memorable.

many of you read the post i wrote in august of 2008 - http://kellysullivanblog.blogspot.com/2008/08/heaven-has-new-angel.html - which told you of a very special family i had once photographed a few years ago. this family hired me to take photos of the three of them, when their daughter, grace was 9 months old. since that shoot, the slotemakers have endured two major life changing events in their family. the first being that bridget announced she was pregnant. the second, that she had stage 4 cancer and had a very short time to live. shortly after her diagnosis, bridget was treated with chemo, and thus had to give birth to her unborn child extremely early. their beautiful little girl, chloe was born at 26 weeks gestation, and weighed only 1 lb. 2 oz. chloe remained in the hospital for many months, but did INCREDIBLY well during her stay in the NICU. she is now over a year old, and is unbelievably healthy, happy, and HUGE!
i of course had been very excited to meet little chloe and see grace again. (chloe was a HUGE inspiration to us when brooklyn was born. reading the slotemaker daily blog truly helped us get through each day of our very long stay in the NICU) so when i received the request to photograph them again while in town (the family now lives across the country) i jumped at the opportunity! as you can see, the family is doing well. the two girls LOVE LOVE LOVE their dad, and all are very blessed to have each other. what a privilege to have been able to spend a day with them.
